4 Ways to Protect Your Skin This Summer

4 Ways to Protect Your Skin This Summer

Summer should be about fun, not itching. If you or a loved one struggles with eczema, these simple tips can help calm the itch.

1. Bathe After You Sweat or Swim
Sweat and chlorine can be a rough combo for people with eczema, especially during summer heat. After swimming, be sure to use our gentle, eczema safe Eczema Relief Oatmeal Soap to cleanse without irritation.

2. Moisturize Like You Mean It
Lock in moisture with our All Over Butter Eczema Therapy, especially after bathing. Applying it to damp skin helps soothe itchiness and creates a protective barrier.  This is a must for managing eczema flare ups in hot weather.

3. Choose Skin-Safe Sunscreen
Not all sunscreens are created equal. Look for eczema-friendly mineral sunscreens with zinc oxide or titanium dioxide (we love Black Girl Sunscreen!). Avoid products with alcohol, synthetic fragrance, or harsh chemicals.

4. Wear Breathable Fabrics
Tight, synthetic clothing can trap sweat and cause friction. Stick with loose, breathable cotton clothes that keeps skin cool and irritation at bay.
